Postdoctoral Research Scientist Norwegian University of Life Sciences

Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Bioinformatics, Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Norway

CIGENE - Centre for Integrative Genetics - is a multi-institutional research centre hosted by the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (www.umb.no). CIGENE (www.cigene.no) aims to contribute to a deep causal understanding of complex genetic characters in fish, plants and animals for scientific and commercial exploitation based on an integrative genetics approach.

As a core facility under the Norwegian Functional Genomics Programme (www.fuge.no), CIGENE is also responsible for providing a national service for detection, typing and interpretation of SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms), and for systems-oriented computational biology.

CIGENE is now inviting applications for a three-year postdoctoral fellowship/research position associated with CIGENE’s computational services and associated R&D work within the fields of production and population biology.

The candidate’s work will be focused towards development and application of multivariate data analysis methodology on high-dimensional genotype/phenotype data. The development work will partly be based on specific high-dimensional empirical data and partly on how multivariate analysis of in silico data from very advanced computational models of complex traits can be used to assess potential sources of genetic variation.

Please see www.cigene.no for more information and application procedures.
