Senior Mechanical Engineer – Communication Products

Responsibilities

Responsible for the design and development of highly sophisticated communication products for the professional and mission critical markets in the commercial, government and industrial segments.

Utilize Modeling and Simulation Software to create and evaluate designs, including mold flow analysis, drop and impact simulation and thermal stress, prior to releasing the design.

Work with a team of highly qualified engineers to generate the overall design concept for the mechanical system as well as the detailed design of the mechanical components which include plastic parts, sheet metal stampings, castings, rubber and elastomers.

Apply sound engineering knowledge in the development of the products to meet stringent specifications such as Military Standard and IP54

Requirements:
At least a degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering ; an advanced engineering degrees (MsC, PhD) in relevant areas will be an advantage.

Minimum 7 yrs experience in product design/development.

Knowledge & experience in specific areas such as acoustics, drop test & impact, latest display technology & electromechanical components; and integration of these components into the end products.

Ability to utilize latest CAD tools such as Pro / Engineer .

Knowledge of Pro-E modelling by incorporating design intent is absolutely necessary.

Knowledge and utilization of computer simulation tools such as ANSYS, COSMOS, ABAQUS, CFDesign etc in the course of developing the products.

Hands-on experience on these simulations as part of design optimization and verification will be an advantage.

Extensive hands-on product development experience, from conceptualization to prototyping, test and verification, and manufacturing at pilot and mass production levels.

Demonstrated use of statistical tools in design selection, failure predictions, design optimization, problem solving, root cause analysis and verifications at all stages of product development. Utilization of Six Sigma tools in product development will be an advantage.

Experience and knowledge in injection molding/casting/sheet metal tools are required and mastering them are added advantage.

Critical thinking and strong technical fundamental are required to make an effective technical decision.
